Terms of service

The agreement between you and us when you use Temporal.ist.

Agreement to these terms

By creating an account or using Temporal.ist, its website, web app, desktop app, browser extensions, terminal client, API or AI assistant connections (together, "the Service"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian. If you use the Service for an organisation, you confirm that you may accept these terms on its behalf.

The Service

Temporal.ist records working time from file activity in folders you choose, from websites that match rules you write, and from timers you start, and turns it into calendars, reports and invoices. It includes projects and clients, invoicing, teams, calendar sync, an API with webhooks, and tools for AI assistants, depending on your plan.

We improve the Service continuously and may change, add or remove features. When a change takes away something you pay for, we tell you in advance.

Your account

  • Give accurate information, keep it up to date and keep your password safe.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account, including the apps and AI assistants you connect to it.
  • Tell us at once at hello@temporal.ist if you suspect someone else is using it.

In an organisation, its owner and admins manage the members, can see the time members track on its projects, and decide what happens to that time when someone leaves.

Your data

You own the data you put into the Service, including your time records, projects, clients and invoices. You give us permission to store and process it only to provide the Service to you. How we handle personal data is described in the privacy policy.

Tracked time is a record of activity, not proof of work. Check it before you bill a client or pay someone based on it.

Plans and payment

Solo

Solo is free. It includes automatic and manual tracking and shows the last 31 days of history; older work is kept and becomes visible when you upgrade.

Pro and Team are paid in advance, monthly or yearly, through our payment provider Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method at the start of each period until you cancel. Team is priced per seat with a minimum number of seats shown on the pricing page. Prices are shown with or without VAT as stated on that page, and checkout shows the final amount before you pay.

Refunds

New paid subscriptions come with a 30-day money-back guarantee: ask within 30 days of your first payment for a full refund. After that, payments are not refunded, except where the law requires it.

Price changes

We may change prices. We tell you at least 30 days before a new price applies to you, and it applies from your next billing period. You can cancel before then.

Cancellation

Cancel at any time from Billing in the app. You keep the paid features until the end of the period you paid for; then your account continues on Solo, with your data kept.

Acceptable use

Do not use the Service to:

  • break the law or infringe the rights of others;
  • monitor people without their knowledge or without a lawful basis;
  • try to get into accounts, systems or data that are not yours;
  • disrupt the Service, overload it, or get around its limits;
  • send malware, spam or misleading content through it, including through webhooks and invoices;
  • resell or sublicense the Service without our written agreement.

We may limit, suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and will tell you why unless the law or the safety of others prevents it.

Third-party services

The Service works with services run by others, such as Stripe, Google, Microsoft, GitHub, LinkedIn and AI assistants you connect. Their own terms apply to your use of them, and we are not responsible for them.

Our intellectual property

The Service, its software, design and content belong to us or our licensors. You may use them only as part of using the Service. Feedback you send us may be used to improve the Service without obligation to you.

Availability and warranties

We work to keep the Service available and your data safe, and we keep backups. The Service is nonetheless provided "as is" and "as available": we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it suits a particular purpose, to the extent the law allows.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profits, lost revenue or lost data, arising from your use of the Service or your inability to use it. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for intent or gross negligence.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time under Settings → Privacy and data; export your data first if you want to keep it. We may end the agreement or suspend your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, and in that case you can still export your data unless the law prevents it. What happens to your data after deletion is described in the privacy policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For changes that matter, we tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before they apply. If you keep using the Service after that, the new terms apply; if you do not agree, cancel and delete your account before then.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the country where ame.link is established. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim before the courts there.

Whole agreement

These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service. If a part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
