Time tracking in OpenCode

The open-source coding agent for the terminal. Connect it to Temporal.ist and OpenCode can start timers, log and correct hours, report on any period and draft invoices when you ask.

Connect OpenCode

Add Temporal.ist to opencode.json, in a project or globally, and restart OpenCode:

  1. Add Temporal.ist

    Run the command, or add the configuration on the right.

  2. Sign in once

    A Temporal.ist sign-in opens. Approve it; the connection then appears under Devices and connections.

  3. Ask

    Try “What am I tracking right now?” or “Log an hour on yesterday's review.” OpenCode picks the right tool.

opencode.json
{
  "mcp": {
    "temporalist": {
      "type": "remote",
      "url": "https://temporal.ist/mcp",
      "enabled": true
    }
  }
}

What you can ask OpenCode

  • Timers

    Start, pause, resume and stop the live timer, and name the task you are on.

    “Start a timer on the website relaunch, task: checkout page.”

    start_timerstop_timerpause_timerresume_timerget_active_timerset_current_task

  • Time entries

    Log past work, find entries and correct them. Deleting asks you to confirm first.

    “Add 45 minutes for yesterday's call with Mapleworks at two.”

    add_time_entrylist_time_entriesedit_time_entrydelete_time_entry

  • Projects and reports

    Find or create projects, and get totals per project, day or task for any period.

    “How many hours went to the payments API this month, per task?”

    list_projectscreate_projectget_time_report

  • Clients and invoices

    Off until you allow it. Manage clients, draft invoices, and send one after you confirm.

    “Draft an invoice for Halden Studio for October.”

    list_clientscreate_clientupdate_clientcreate_invoicelist_invoicessend_invoice

Careful by default

  • Confirm before it counts

    Deleting an entry and sending an invoice always show a preview first, and need your yes.

  • Client data stays off

    Client and invoice tools only work after you allow assistants to handle that data, in Settings.

  • Your sign-in, your scope

    Assistants sign in through Temporal.ist like any app. API keys can be limited to reading.

  • Revoke at any time

    Each connected assistant is listed under Devices and connections. Revoking signs it out at once.

Using another assistant? Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Gemini, Copilot and Kimi.

Questions

More in the documentation

Is it tied to one machine?

No. The Temporal.ist server is remote, so every machine where OpenCode runs with this configuration talks to the same account, alongside the desktop app or the terminal client.

Which Temporal.ist plan does OpenCode need?

Pro or Team. One subscription covers every assistant you connect.

Does OpenCode see all my data?

OpenCode sees what it asks for while you use it: projects, sessions and reports. Client and invoice details stay hidden until you allow assistants to handle them under Settings, Integrations.

How do I disconnect OpenCode?

Revoke it under Settings, Devices and connections in Temporal.ist. OpenCode is signed out at once and has to sign in again to reconnect.
